📚REVIEW📚 Ren: God's Little Monster

Image
Ren: God's Little Monster by Sarah Noffke My rating: 5 of 5 stars First off, I love anything and everything that Ren shows up in. Now, with the addition of his daughter, who is very much like him, it's even better. I listened to the audio of this one, and I'm still loving the narrator, and I'm loving his take on Ren's voice, it's simply perfect casting. I also that he doesn't go super ridiculous with all the women's voices, he does sometimes modulate his voice slightly higher and softer, but he doesn't attempt falsetto. Now, Dahlia—Dahlia ticks me off. She's cold and shut off, just like Ren, but she comes off as plain b****y, instead of irritated by life. Let me be clear, I liked the writing, and I loved hating her. She's just right as a cold queen bee. The world of the dream travelers is so rich and so vast, I'm loving the opportunity to explore it! Available on Amazon for $4.99 View all my reviews

📚REVIEW📚 Aftermath: The Jewel Trilogy - Book 3

Aftermath: The Jewel Trilogy book 3 by Trish Beninato My rating: 4 of 5 stars What an excellent conclusion! It’s the final showdown between Jewel and her grandfather, Zeus! I loved this science fantasy look at my favorite myths! I especially love Zeus as a straight up villain, it’s right on my wavelength ;) Everything wrapped up beautifully with a promise of hope. Yes, there is heartbreak & loss, but that isn’t the be all end all of it. I am curious to learn more of Eros’ story as well as the future of the characters. I’d love a whole bunch of other stories in this universe! There were some typos/misplaced punctuation, but the story itself shines. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Beninato comes up with next! 📚REVIEW📚 Awoken: The Jewel Trilogy - Book 2

Awoken: The Jewel Trilogy Book 2 by Trish Beninato My rating: 5 of 5 stars An epic book 2! This time, we journey to the past with Jewel. We watch her grow up and come into her own. It was a lot of fun reading about Past Jewel. Her origin story is fascinating. Ms. Beninato’s take on mythology is engrossing and I’d love to see more in this world of fantasy, aliens, and time travel. I especially want to learn more about the fae in this world! They’re just touched upon, but if you know me, you know I like exploring all the what if’s! There’s lots more Anubis in this one, & his struggles with his inner darkness (you can’t be the god of death with out some darkness). The choices he makes, & the struggle it is to make them make him a fascinating character to get to know. There are lots of new side characters (I don’t want to call them minor, because they’re not. Perhaps supporting characters?) to fall in love with. I hope some (if not all) show up in book 3! Awoken is av
