 This book was a-mazing! Survival of the fittest. Hunger Games with vampires (and without the stupid love triangle).

V Games in an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride. It was so hard to put down and get stuff done (like sleep and cook supper).

 The story is told in dual perspective, with the majority of chapters going to the heroine, Selena. A girl sent to prison and then disappearing (without anyone to care, besides her mother) to be used as a contestant in the V games.

Varick provides the opposite perspective, a vampire that has belonged to the Helsing family for a century or more. In the beginning, he is pure vampire, full of bloodlust & uncaring. His character has probably the best arc of the story as he finds threads of his former humanity.

The romance is light, though I expect there will be more in future books!

This book is totally different than any other vampire story I’ve read before. The story itself feels fresh and gripping. While this is a YA novel, I expect adults and teens to both enjoy it. I bet it would be a great conversation starter!

Why I'm Networking, Before Publishing

There are many of us “aspiring writers.” Some dream of one day starting that dream project. Some don’t tell a soul what they’re up to. Some are convinced that they know what they’re doing. I’m a ways away from publishing. Editing takes time and concentration. Those two things don’t always exist in the same space. I’m making an attempt to do it all, be a mother and a writer. Some days are better than others. Currently, I’m piecing together chapter ten, out of twenty eight. When I’m not writing, or editing, or actively wrangling children, I read & review. A majority of what I’ve been reading has been independently published, or published through small press. I’ve made some pretty awesome connections, over the last couple of years! I’m learning by watching what these more experienced writers do. I love that they take the time to interact with their readers. I hope to be as inspiring as they are, some day. 📚REVIEW📚 Between Dawn and Dusk & The Fae King's Curse

Okay, before we dive into this review, let me just tell you, I was already a fan of Jamie Schlosser's new adult contemporary romances. They're sweet and spicy and I want to adopt all the characters, cook them supper, and let them know they're all loved. My sentiment is a bit different towards her fantasy romance is a bit different and I love it! I don't want to adopt them, but hanging out with them on the page has been absolutely amazing! So without further ado, here are my reviews for both Between Dusk and dawn: A Prequel and The Fae King's Curse.  Oh, wait! No, first I need to comment on these covers! I mean, just look at them. Between Dawn and Dusk is spectacular and I need it in my paperback collection ASAP. And then you get the crown again on The Fae King! The colors and everything tie together perfectly.
